Managing Your Backbar & Shopping List

Keep track of every spirit, liqueur, and mixer in your home bar and let Speakeasy recommend your next bottle purchase.

Instead of wondering what cocktails you can make with the bottles sitting on your kitchen shelves, Speakeasy cross-references your real-world inventory with over 180 classic and modern recipes.

Opening the Backbar Modal

Tap the My Bar button in the top navigation bar to open your inventory controls. A badge counter shows how many total bottles and items you currently keep in stock.

  • Categorized Shelves: Jump between organized tabs including Spirits, Fortified Wines & Vermouths, Liqueurs & Amari, Bitters, Syrups, Produce, and Mixers.
  • Refrigerated Section: Use the snowflake icon tab to quickly inspect temperature-sensitive ingredients like fresh citrus juices, vermouths, and egg whites.
  • Starter Bar Preset: Just getting started? Tap Starter Bar to automatically stock essential crowd-pleasers like London Dry Gin, Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth, and Angostura Bitters.

Filtering Ready-to-Pour Drinks

At the bottom of the recipe navigation sidebar, you will find the Ready toggle switch:

  • All: Shows every cocktail in your library, indicating missing ingredients on unmade drink cards.
  • Ready: Hides every recipe requiring a missing bottle, presenting only cocktails you can prepare immediately.

Smart Shopping List

Expand your horizons without guessing what to buy next:

  1. Switch to the Shopping List tab in the Backbar modal.
  2. Speakeasy analyzes your unmakeable drinks and ranks ingredients by high-impact yield.
  3. See at a glance: "Adding Campari unlocks 9 new cocktails including the Negroni, Boulevardier, and Americano."
  4. Tap any ingredient directly from the shopping list to mark it stocked once you bring it home from the bottle shop.
